Checkmate: Consequences of a King

In the midst of a bitter custody fight, wealthy business owner Shawn Cunningham is a good man and willing to do anything to get his twins away from their mother. Shawn’s ex-wife, Brandi, is just as cold and calculating as she is a liar and deceiver. She knows Shawn’s chances of getting full custody are very slim and she aims to keep it that way…even if she has to get blood on her hands.

​Court mediator, Claire Gonzalez, enters the picture with the children’s interest in mind and wants to make sure Shawn and Brandi are competent and dedicated parents. However, Claire and Shawn didn’t count on the intense attraction forming between them. It makes a complex situation more complicated with his trust issues that barge into their relationship.
